About Membership
Membership is open to all academic and professional services staff, post-graduates students (Ph.D/mPhil students), and early career researchers at Newcastle University who self-identify as belonging to a minoritised group on the grounds of ethnicity. We welcome support and involvement from White allies who have been referred to join the committee by existing members.
Why join NU-REN?
The issues of racial inequalities, that persist in our society and at educational institutions, are a reality for many staff members, post-graduate students, and early career researchers. Joining the network is one way to get support on these matters.

The network is supportive and welcoming, and offers a safe space for individuals to meet like-minded people and discuss issues of racial inequality.
