Pauline and Steve provided a keynote at the Mercatus Markets and Society Conference in Washington DC in October 2026. The talk provided insights from their book “Urban Life in Delhi Slums” with a focus on the theoretical underpinnings from Elinor Ostrom, Jane Jacobs and F. A. Hayek. The conference was made up of distinguished economists, students, and invited guests, numbering around 350 in total. It was lovely to catch up with old friends from George Mason University
