Graeme Redshaw-Boxwell
Learning Enhancement and Technology Team Manager
Graeme manages the Learning Enhancement and Technology team, and is the pedagogic lead for Turnitin.
He also manages the University submission to National Teaching Fellow awards (NTFS), and the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE), as well as the Vice Chancellor’s Education Excellence Awards.
Lisa Fishburn
Learning Enhancement and Technology Adviser
Lisa is the lead for Blackboard, the centrally supported Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), and is managing the current institutional review of the VLE which will result in the procurement of a new or updated solution to be implemented from 2020.
Lisa is also leading on the organisation and development of the annual Learning and Teaching Conference for 2018-19.
Sam Flowers
Learning Enhancement and Technology Adviser
Sam is the lead for ePortfolio and is responsible for exploring the potential of using data and learning analytics to support our students’ learning.
He also manages the Senior Tutor Forum and supports the University’s Directors of Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DELT) Forum.
Rebecca Gill
Learning Enhancement and Technology Adviser
Rebecca is the project lead for expanding online exam provision at Newcastle University. The project focuses on piloting typed written exams, and the use of students’ own devices to deliver digital exams in non-cluster environments, as well as diversifying the range of assessment types available for secure online exams.
Alongside her work on this project Rebecca advises academic and professional services on use of centrally supported learning technologies for assessment and feedback, and supports the delivery of OLAF exams.
In 2019/20 academic year Rebecca is supporting the University Education Development Fund.
Carol Summerside
Learning Enhancement and Technology Adviser
Carol is the lead for the ReCap Lecture and Event Capture Service and the OMBEA Teaching Room Response System and supports the University’s Technology Enhanced Learning Committee.
During 2019/20 Carol will also be working with the Team Manager to support the University submission to National Teaching Fellow awards (NTFS), and the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE), as well as the Vice Chancellor’s Education Excellence Awards.
Claire Burnham
Learning Enhancement and Technology Co-ordinator
Claire looks after some of the internal communications for the service, manages the Case Studies Website and provides support with Open Badges.
In addition she supports NUTELA (Newcastle University Technology Enhanced Learning Advocates) helping to organise a programme of technology focused events throughout the year.
