Martin Foster : Dento-legal Adviser ( Dental Protection)  Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry(NHS Lothian)

After qualification in 1986 Martin worked in general practice and then into a career involving a series of Hospital and Community Dental Service posts and qualifications in Public Health, Health Service Management, registration as a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry and the completion of legal examinations in the Faculty of Advocates.

Following experience as a local dental adviser with DPL he moved from his role as Assistant Clinical Director with NHS Lothian to his current post as a Dento-legal Adviser in 2011.  He has been involved in the development of clinical guidance for both SIGN and SDCEP and maintains a clinical commitment as a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry. He is a regular presenter on a range of legal and ethical issues with a particular interest in communication and risk management.
