Glossary

In medicine students learn a new vocabulary of medical terms, sometimes having to re-learn meanings for words in common lay parlance that have a different and precise meaning when used by the medical profession. This is probably most evident in psychiatry where technical terms such as paranoid have different meanings in lay usage. Additionally in psychiatry there are clear definitions for psychopathological terms which are important to learn and understand. Videos in the history and mental state examination section can help but posted here is a glossary that covers all a student at Newcastle will need plus some extra.
