In July 2016 we hosted our regular IGM Open Day for the lower 6th form students from local schools. We invited 7 students and 1 member of staff from 8 local schools to attend.
Final programme for the day:
The event included hands on experiments and a “bench to bedside” journey in heart development as well as a short presentation about studying at the University. The event was successful and generated good feedback (see below and here).
The materials and presentations from the event can be found on the relevant sub-pages.
Thank you very much to all participants and a big thank you to all the staff and students from IGM for taking time off to present their research and to the staff at the Centre for Life for their help with the practical sessions. We all really enjoyed organising and taking part in the day.
If you would like to participate in a similar event next year, please email IGMengagement@ncl.ac.uk
