On 2nd of July 2014 we hosted an Open Day at the Institute of Genetic Medicine. The day was specifically targeted at A-level students considering a career in science. With hands on experiments, interviews with real scientists, students and patients, stimulating debates and presentations, it was designed to help answer all the questions you may have about studying at Newcastle university and about a career in science.

I (..) thoroughly enjoyed hearing input from the lecturers during each presentation as it not only showed their own opinions on the subject, but also presented me with some very thought provoking questions to walk away with. I particularly enjoyed hearing about the work of the PHD students as their talks were very interesting and it gave me an idea of the sort of research I could go into through doing a bio medical science degree.
