3 tips from our expert judges
(thanks judges!)
Don’t expect your writing to be perfect first time and don’t give up when it isn’t the same on the page as it was in your head. Take a break of a few hours, or days, then go back and work on it some more – most good writing has been rewritten lots (and lots) of times before it is finished.
If you have a good story there will be lots of different ways you can tell it. Try different points of view, start the story in the middle or at the end, use dialogue (talking), action (doing), and reflection (thinking), play with your work and experiment!
Do your research. Your work will be read by writers and scientists so it is important to get the science right.
