We’re pleased to announce the winner of the Genetics Matters poster competition!

This month we organised a competition for a poster to best represent our popular Genetics Matters event. We had several entries from the design students at Northumbria University. These were all brilliant and it was very difficult to choose a winner. The competition posters were ranked by ten committee members and we are pleased to announce that the winner is: Rebecca Symonds, for the poster included below

The runner up poster was designed by Rebecca Williams with James Phillips’s design in third place.

Thank you all for sending us your posters and congratulations to Rebecca!

Student visit from Jarrow School 7th Dec 2017

On the 7th of December we were visited by 20 students from Jarrow School. They had a look at the research and the labs, chatted with our scientists and attended the Christmas lecture at the Centre for Life. The day was enjoyed by all!

“The students had a great time. Took a lot away from it. […] Please thank everyone involved from me and the students. We really appreciate it.” Jon Ingledew, teacher
